Planning a big KakoBuy haul? This guide covers everything from budgeting and item selection to consolidation, shipping strategy, and what to do when your haul arrives.

KakoBuy Haul Guide: How to Plan, Order, and Maximize Your W2C Haul

1What Is a W2C Haul?

A "haul" in W2C terminology refers to ordering multiple items at once, typically to save on shipping costs through consolidation. Instead of shipping each item individually, you store them in KakoBuy's warehouse and ship everything together in one package. Hauls are popular because international shipping costs are often the biggest expense in W2C orders. By consolidating 5-10 items into one shipment, you can dramatically reduce the per-item shipping cost.

2Planning Your Haul

Successful hauls require planning. Start by making a wishlist of items you want to order. Browse our spreadsheet categories and save the products you're interested in. Consider the total weight of your haul, as this will determine your shipping cost. A good rule of thumb is to aim for hauls of 3-8 items. Smaller hauls don't benefit much from consolidation, while very large hauls can attract customs attention and result in higher duties.
  • Make a wishlist before ordering — don't impulse buy
  • Consider total weight for shipping cost estimation
  • Mix categories to spread customs risk
  • Prioritize items with good QC track records
  • Check seasonal availability — some items sell out
  • Budget for shipping (typically $15-40 for a medium haul)

3The Consolidation Process

Once your items arrive at KakoBuy's warehouse, you can request consolidation. KakoBuy will repack your items into a single box, removing excess packaging to minimize weight and volume. Before consolidating, review all QC photos and approve each item. Once consolidated, it's difficult to return individual items. The consolidation process typically takes 1-2 business days.

4Customs and Declaration Tips

Customs is one of the most discussed topics in the W2C community. The key is to declare your package value conservatively without being dishonest. Most shipping lines allow you to specify a declared value, which affects customs duties. For most countries, packages declared under $100-200 USD pass through customs without duties. Check your country's de minimis threshold (the value below which no duties are charged) and declare accordingly. Note: We recommend being honest with customs declarations. Deliberately undervaluing packages to avoid duties is illegal in most countries.

Pro Tip

Spread large hauls across multiple shipments if you're concerned about customs. Two packages of $150 each are less likely to attract attention than one package of $300.
